WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION)--A woman is in the hospital after she was hit by a vehicle.

Monday night after 7:30, CHP officers were called out to a traffic collision on Green Valley Road at Minto Road.

They say a 53-year-old Watsonville man was driving a 2003 Jeep
Grand Cherokee eastbound on Green Valley Road, just east of Minto Road. A 33-year-old Watsonville woman was walking in the east bound lane of Green Valley Road in front of the Jeep.

For an unknown reason, the Jeep collided with the pedestrian. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to Natividad.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in this collision.
