Red Flag Warning issued for Central Coast, Bay Area
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION)
The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for the entire San Francisco Bay area and Central Coast.
The Red Flag Warning goes into effect Sunday at 5 a.m. and will remain in place through Monday at 5 p.m.
The National Weather Service says erratic wind and thunderstorms could arrive in areas already dealing with major wildfires.
The NWS warns of dry lightning -- lightning strikes with little moisture -- during this period. Many of the fires ravaging the state were sparked by lightning strikes earlier this month.
